United States of America Election 2028

Charlie HOUGH.

Republican Candidate for President of the United States

The rich bad boy who already made his money — and still drives the bus, fights the fire, and works the farm.

The Creed — American ideals, still in force

Liberty, still.

Union, still.

Self-reliance, still.

The consent of the governed —

renewed, not auctioned.

The founding ideals did not age. The middlemen did. This is not a revolution for its own sake — it is a repossession. America belongs to the people who keep the lights on, and Charlie Hough is the outsider rude enough to go get it back.

02 — The Story

Boardroom → conscience → granite state → bid

Empty executive boardroom at night — the world Charlie left behind.

The Machine Years · Global Pharma

He ran a billion-dollar book

Senior executive at one of the top five pharmaceutical companies on earth. Most significant post: Head of OTC Pharmaceuticals for North America — roughly $1 billion in sales. He knows how a competitive industry actually works, because he ran one.

Walnut tables. Quarterly targets. The whole country reduced to a ledger line. He was very good at it. That should interest you. It eventually bothered him.

“I know exactly how the machine works. I helped run the thing.”

Then he rewrote the bill

As Head of Corporate Responsibility he helped build differential pricing — countries pay for medicine based on ability to pay, not on how hard the system can squeeze the USA. He also ran the Free Medicine Program: if you earned under four times the poverty line, you received patented medicines free.

The board called it charity. He called it the bill coming due.

“We should not pay twice what Switzerland pays — when Swiss income is twice ours.”

Then he actually left

Seven years in the Granite State. School bus driver for two years. Uber driver. Volunteer firefighter. He runs Cranberry Meadow Farm in Peterborough — real fences, real frost, a truck that earns its keep.

The tuxedo still fits. He wears the life he chose. That is the point.

“Soft hands from the boardroom. First truck out when the sirens go.”

2028 · The Bid

Letter of intent

Not a career politician. Not a recycled face from last decade’s roll call. An outsider who already made his money, already fixed a medicine program, already lives among the people he would govern.

One more takeover — a hostile one, on your behalf. He is not asking the machine’s permission. He is asking yours.

“I don’t need this job. That is exactly why you should give it to me.”

03 — The Platform

Five planks. No splinters.

Plank I · Care

Medicine, priced like you’re a person

Hard-working Americans who contribute have earned affordable care. Rein in drug prices so the USA isn’t paying twice what peer nations pay — and write fair ability-to-pay pricing into the national charter, the model he already ran in pharma.

“Nobody rations a heartbeat in my republic.”

Plank II · The Trust

Refill Social Security from the top

Keep taxes low for working families. Save the Trust the honest way: remove the payroll-tax cap so high earners keep paying in — him included. Anyone over $1 million pays an additional 5% on the amount above that line.

“I’ll feel it personally. Good.”

Plank III · The Line

Wide gates, hard rules

A border is a door, not a wound. Fast lawful entry for people who build; real verification at every port and crossing; consequences that don’t blink and don’t brag. Order is what makes the welcome worth something.

“A door only works if it opens and closes.”

Plank IV · The Forge

Strength that doesn’t beg

Diplomacy through strength. Power America from our own ridgelines so no rival holds our thermostat. Trade hard with friends, owe nothing to adversaries, and keep a force good enough that nobody checks twice.

“Energy from our own weather. Imagine that.”

Plank V · The Machine

I’ve already made my money

No consultant caste running the show. No favors sold forward to the machine. School bus. Uber. Volunteer firefighter. Farm. Former billion-dollar pharma operator. His independence isn’t a virtue — it’s an asset class, and for once it’s working for you.

“Beholden to the voter. Allergic to everyone else.”

04 — The Voice

Transcribed, reluctantly, by his own staff

I’ve sat at the table where your ceiling gets decided. The chairs are extremely comfortable. That is the problem.

They say I’m not a serious man. Serious men sold you the last decade at auction.
